The Sleeping Beauty Suite in Disneyland Paris

The Disneyland Hotel Paris, France

The moment I stepped into The Disneyland Hotel in Paris I knew I was in for a magical experience. The lobby looked incredible. Elegant, Disney themed, full of class, style and excitement. There was a grand staircase with gold trim and red carpet, a chandelier decorated with florals and a fireplace in the corner. Everything felt lush and welcoming.

Jeff and I planned a spontaneous night away to Disneyland Paris to celebrate my birthday (ok, Jeff planned it all, I just had to show up). He flew in from The United States, we met at London St Pancras and rode the Eurostar into Paris that night. The customs officer in France was quite impressed.

Upon check-in Jeff mentioned that today was my birthday. Fast forward 10 minutes and we were led up a hidden staircase, stood in front of a set of wooden doors with gold engraving reading ‘Suite 2310,’ and informed our room for the night had been upgraded.

The doors opened to reveal The Sleeping Beaty Suite, the most luxurious suite in the Disneyland Hotel Paris.

The suite was by far the most lavish and extravagant hotel room I had ever stepped into. Everything was Disney themed, from the glass model of Sleeping Beauty by the entrance to the etchings along the trim of the wardrobe. Disney slippers, Disney napkins, Disney shampoos, Disney telephone, Disney lamp shade. I made sure to indulge in everything.

Now for the room itself. The room featured an open living room complete with a grand piano and fireplace, a dining room with twelve seater mahogany table, full kitchen, bar, four poster bed and impressive bathroom with a walk in wardrobe. There was also a balcony with double doors revealing a front facing view of Disneyland and the castle. A prime location for the nightly fireworks.

We opened the curtains to reveal this view. I snapped a single photo.

After recovering from the shock that hotel room upgrades really do happen, we took some time to wander through the suite and take in the details.
I discovered hidden doors and closets and managed to wander out into the public hall through a door in the kitchen and lock myself out! After some furious knocking Jeff let me back inside.

Food and Drink in the Hotel

Dinner was booked at one of the many restaurants located inside the hotel. The Californian Grill was an elegantly decorated Disney themed restaurant. I had chicken and vegetables and Jeff had the lobster dish. The complimentary pumpkin and squash appetiser was delicious, as was the bread basket. We ate the whole thing. Prices were quite steep but this was expected. We also shared a bottle of wine and topped off the night with a surprise birthday cake. The Disney staff marched out and sung Happy Birthday to me. It was a lovely treat to end such a beautiful day.

Disneyland Paris

I would say that staying at the Disney Hotel the night before entering the park is the way to go. I was blown away by the hotel. It looked amazing, the service was incredible and the location was perfect – the hotel is situated inside the main gates! Everything was catered towards the Disney experience. Inside the hotel we had the option to take photos with Mickey before breakfast or sit by the fire and write postcards in the afternoon. You could even take a nap between rides if you so desired.

As for the experience of Disneyland Paris itself, it was everything I had hoped it would be. The rides, the beauty, the magic, it was all amazing. I particularly enjoyed hearing the characters speak French. We had purchased fast passes which I highly recommend if you want to see and do as much as possible in limited time. We left the park that night and travelled back to London on the Eurostar. The end of the most magical birthday weekend.

Disneyland has a way of making dreams you didn’t even know you had come true and for that I am ever so thankful.

Wow! What an awesome experience! I live in Orlando and have heard of them doing that with guests in the park and staying in the castle. So glad you got to experience it (and share it with us!).
